DKJA Calculator Drive
The Math Honors Society at Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at Donna Klein Jewish Academy has partnered with Technology 4 All™ and is holding a calculator drive from November 13th, 2024 through November 29th, 2024 where they will be collecting new or used calculators. They will go to students who can not afford a calculator to help them advance in math class and maximize their potential. If you would like to contribute, please get in touch with us via the Get Involved page, or donate via the attached link.
Donation - Lotus High School
This summer, Technology4all™ donated hundreds of calculators to students at Lotus High School to assist them in their mathematical studies.
Lotus High School is an underserved High School in Cape Town, South Africa. Each child's school fees are about $38 a year and only about 30% of the school can afford to pay these fees. In a school of 450 students, they only had approximately 12-15 calculators to share, causing most of the students to underperform on their exams. With our help, we hope to see students begin to excel in their mathematical studies in the near future and for generations to come.

Donation - Township
Townships were established during apartheid in South Africa to segregate non-white residents on the outskirts of towns and cities. Despite the end of apartheid, these townships still exist today and remain severely underdeveloped, receiving minimal government support. An interesting fact: if people erect shacks as homes in these townships, the government has 48 hours to intervene and demolish these structures. However, if no action is taken within that time frame, the government can no longer interfere. These makeshift homes are often left standing.
Technology4All had the opportunity to visit Langa, the oldest township in South Africa that developed before the system of apartheid. During our visit, we took a comprehensive tour to learn about its history and the ongoing efforts to address current challenges. Like many other townships, Langa has rows of shipping containers that house up to two families of five each. Despite the harsh living conditions, we were struck by the residents' happiness and their warm welcome to us as visitors.
While there, we visited an elementary school and donated 100's of calculators. The children were incredibly friendly and thrilled to meet us. The joy on each student's face when receiving their calculator was unmistakable—many of them had never seen one before.
Our mission is to continue supporting students in their education, boosting their confidence, and bringing smiles to their faces. If you would like to contribute to the cause, please click the attached link.
